Their website states "Women on Course is dedicated to connecting and encouraging participation in the golf lifestyle by highlighting the business, social and fitness benefits of the game." They are serious about the lifestyle part, as their events go beyond mere play dates and include social and networking activities. The luncheon was a great example and a fun introduction to the organization.
The luncheon included great information about WOC membership, upcoming play dates such as Nine & Wine events, and even a visit from the course Golf Pro who talked about an upcoming clinic sponsored by WOC. Membership benefits apply to any official WOC golf course and instructor across the country. The discount is the same in every city. In addition, there are different membership levels which come with a few gifts, like golf club sets and Nike golf shoes. J.B. and I signed up that day.
Golf is about punctuality. Tee times are specific. Rounds of golf should last no longer than a set amount of time. My opinion is that golf is designed to be fun, but also fit into your larger overall lifestyle, whether that's taking care of a family, running a business, volunteering for a charitable organization or spending time with family and friends doing other stuff. The luncheon offered alot of great information and provided time to meet other attendees, including some fun ice breakers (my team lost, but our table mates won), while staying true to it's schedule. The event started and ended promptly and my GGs and I all headed out to attend other events and enjoy the rest of our day.
The luncheon was great and I look forward to attending some of the WOC events soon.
