In 2012, Tomi Otee launched a textile recycling program at golf courses in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. According to their website “Our recycling is both community driven and geared to recycling. We collect used and wearable clean textiles that depending on their quality we will donate to local thrift stores to help them in their mission to help the poor. We also collect textiles that are destined for recycling and will end up as new fibers and hopefully will start an entire new life in an ecoresponsable (their word) supply chain.” What is not to love about this concept?!
